Nokia, which took part in a new research program initiated by US National Science Foundation for future of communication network in 6G era last July, shared some program highlights.

RINGS(Resilient and Intelligent Next Generation Systems)

RINGS, which is one of the largest programs in the industry, is expected to cultivate major research communities with institutes developing future network technologies in the 6G era. Objective of RINGs is to promote basic research on new technologies for NextG systems. Through RINGS, Nokia plans to give its full support to agility driven by cloud network and develop new applications for 6G. 

This suggests that global ICT firms are pouring their resources in the 6G market to take a leadership role by joining 6G research support programs, hiring 6G engineers and collaborating with researches in the related industries.
