LG Elec. takes driver’s seat in global 6G mobile communication development
Senior research Kidong Lee at LG Electronics’ CTO
Division was appointed as Chairman of Next G. Alliance organized by US Alliance
for Telecommunications Industry Solutions and Chairman of application working
group. SVP Byunghoon Kim(Head of Future Technology Center) said this will allow
LG Electronics to secure a leadership role in the standardization and
commercialization stage for 6G mobile communications.
In 2019, LG Electronics established LG-KAIST 6G
Research Center to secure core source technologies for 6G. In 2021, it
strengthened collaboration with Keysight Technology and joined Next G. Alliance
as part of its efforts to broaden 6G-related activities.
