6G-IA and the IMT-2030 (6G) Promotion Group have agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding to further promote cooperation on 6G on 2nd, Jun.< Areas of Cooperation >1. Exchange information in the field of 6G communication systems and networks.2. Collaborate in the following aspects - Vision of 6G communication systems and networks. - Requirements on 6G communication systems and networks. - Discussions on basic system concepts. - Frequency spectrum in order to support the global regulatory process. - Preparation of future global standards by identification of common interest and consensus building. - Collaboration on the development of a single global standard to ensure one global ecosystem for 6G. - Encouraging collaborative 6G research projects.

Since signing a MoU with SKT of Korea in 2018, Keysight Technologies has been solidifying its partnership by performing 5G test solution performance verification, etc., and is currently collaborating on the development of 5G network design technologies. In addition, Keysight Technologies is pursuing to secure leadership in the standardization and commercialization stage of 6G mobile communication and carry out technological cooperation in the future by signing a three-party MoU with LG Electronics and KAIST for the development of 6G core technologies. In 2022, Keysight Technologies also signed a MoU with Samsung Electronics for research and development of 6G technology, which is also to develop test and verification technology for 6G wireless systems.    In addition, Keysight Technologies took the lead in the 6G initiative by obtaining the industry's first FCC Spectrum Horizon license for the development of sub-terahertz 6G technology. Keysight Technologies said, "With the FCC Spectrum Horizon license, we will be able to focus more on 6G technologies and lead innovators to explore new areas of future-generation communication systems."   As such, Keysight Technologies is collaborating with various research/educational institutions and companies in Korea to enhance its communication technology expertise.  

Senior research Kidong Lee at LG Electronics’ CTO Division was appointed as Chairman of Next G. Alliance organized by US Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions and Chairman of application working group. SVP Byunghoon Kim(Head of Future Technology Center) said this will allow LG Electronics to secure a leadership role in the standardization and commercialization stage for 6G mobile communications.  In 2019, LG Electronics established LG-KAIST 6G Research Center to secure core source technologies for 6G. In 2021, it strengthened collaboration with Keysight Technology and joined Next G.
